GUWAHATI: A married couple was arrested for running a sex racket in Assam’s Sivasagar town on Friday, October 18.
The couple was nabbed by the members of Arohan and Jagriti Mahila Samiti, local NGOs and were later handed over to the police.
The couple has been identified as Ajgar Ali and Usha Begum. Reportedly, acting on a tip-off the NGOs raided the couple’s rented house following which they were caught red handed.
The police have also recovered a huge quantity of objectionable items from the spot.
The couple was also thrashed by the Mahila Samiti members but were later rescued by the police.
According to reports, the couple had been running the sex racket since last two years.
