GUWAHATI: One person was injured after he was attacked with a knife at Bhabanipur in the Noonmati area, on April 22.

One person has been detained in this connection, Himangshu Deka was returning home from work around 9:30 PM, when he fell victim to a vicious assault. The assailant, identified as Ganesh Das, a resident of the same locality, allegedly knifed Deka without provocation.

Speaking to GPlus, Jogesh Deka, the victim's father, said, "While my son was returning home from office, he was suddenly charged at by the accused for no reason. Das attacked my son with a knife. He received around 7 stitches around his neck and is currently recuperating at home after receiving treatment."
The incident was confirmed by an official of Noonmati police station, who said that the accused had been detained and legal proceedings were underway.
However, further details regarding the motive behind the attack is still awaited.
