The outbreak has reportedly claimed five lives in the past week, including that of a 4-year-old girl.
In response to the crisis, the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), led by Chief Executive Member (CEM) Pramod Boro, has intensified efforts to control the outbreak. Boro reportedly visited highly affected areas, such as Lungchung, to assess the situation and engage with local communities. He assured residents of immediate action, including the establishment of seven health camps in six FRC villages to provide timely medical care.
Accompanied by MLA Lawrence Islary, Executive Member (EM) Wilson Hasda, and health officials, Boro outlined a series of remedial measures being undertaken to curb the spread of the disease. He emphasised that the BTC government is committed to ensuring better healthcare for those affected.
The Assam government has also reportedly joined the effort, with Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma dispatching a team of expert medical professionals from Guwahati to bolster the response and provide technical support.
