GUWAHATI: A total of 671.92 grams of heroin worth ₹4 crore was seized and a suspected drug peddler arrested in a joint operation carried out by Golaghat Police, Karbi Anglong Police, and the 155 Battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) in the Chungajan area on Thursday, May 1.

The seizure was made after the team intercepted a four-wheeler and found the heroin concealed in 49 soap boxes. The narcotics were hidden inside a secret chamber behind the vehicle’s back seat.
The arrested individual is currently in police custody. Authorities have not released the suspect’s identity, and an investigation is currently ongoing
