“Specialised care for our furry friends,” Sarma posted. “Govt of Assam has taken up a comprehensive plan to develop 3 Pet Care Hospitals which will be operational by the end of 2025.”
The pet care facilities will be located in Guwahati, Bokakhat, and Dibrugarh, as part of a wider plan to enhance animal healthcare services.
In addition, the multi-care veterinary hospitals will be introduced in five other districts. These include Kamrup, Golaghat, Lakhimpur, Tinsukia, and Sivasagar, where work has been expected to progress in the coming months. These centres will support the treatment of a broader range of animals, catering to both pets and livestock.
According to official communication, the hospitals will be equipped with modern veterinary tools and staffed by trained professionals.
