GUWAHATI: Himanta Biswa Sarma in a recent media interaction told reporters that he and members from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) “have lost hope in the present form of the NRC” as “so many genuine Indians” have been left out of the final National Register of Citizens (NRC) list which was published today, August 31.
Sarma also mentioned that BJP is already thinking about a “fresh strategy” on how they can “drive out the illegal migrants.” He added that this is not the final list and that many more lists would be published in the future.
It should be noted that there have been a number of errors in the final NRC list published today as over 19 lakh people have been excluded.
