GUWAHATI: The premises of the Tepuram Teron High School in Upper Chachal, has become an undue space for garbage dumping for a long time now.

The authorities of the school have complained that people dispose off garbage on the school premises regularly.
Throughout the day until late at night, many people dump their garbage inside the boundary of the school.
Disregarding basic civic rules and regulations, the locals are openly defying safety norms by dumping their garbage inside the school area.

This situation has made it difficult for the school to continue with its mundane operations. This is also causing utmost distress to the students, school officials, and the other good Samaritans who are opposed to this.
Talking to GPlus, an official from Tepuram Teron School said, “This has been going on for the past year, and the amount of garbage being dumped has increased drastically all of a sudden. We did oppose some people when we caught them dumping garbage on our grounds, but how can we keep an eye all the time? Someone or the other is always involved in this. We have complained to the authorities and have also put up signage that says, “Do Not Litter Here”. But, all these have fallen on deaf ears and blind eyes!”
Residents who are of a different opinion and do not want their surroundings polluted are devising better ways and methods to keep the garbage and litter away, along with spreading awareness among the people, to deter such behaviour.
