GUWAHATI: The Assam Special Task Force (STF) recovered ₹5.5 crore worth of heroin from two suspected drug peddlers near the Chandmari flyover on Thursday, October 17.

Under Chandmari Police Station’s jurisdiction, the team conducted a late-night raid to arrest one Sandeep Singh (34) of Jyotinagar and another Manoj Deka (37) of New Guwahati.
Authorities managed to seize 691 gram of heroin hidden in ten soap boxes and two mobile phones from the suspects.
Along with the aforementioned items, a scooty bearing the plate number AS01EX7335 was also recovered.
The seized vehicle and drugs have gone to police custody, and legal action has been initiated against the two.
