GUWAHATI: In an operation carried out by the Special Task Force (STF) of Assam Police, a drug peddler was apprehended on the night of October 17, in possession of heroin in Guwahati. The raid took place at Kachari-Basti, under the jurisdiction of Dispur Police Station.

The arrested individual has been identified as Rahul Ahmed, a 29-year-old resident of Pragati Path, Notbama, Hatigaon Chariali in Kamrup (M). Ahmed was intercepted while riding a motorcycle during the operation.
The items seized in the raid were, a soap box containing 12.45 grams of suspected heroin (net weight, excluding the soap box), a mobile phone, ₹900 in cash along with a PAN card and an Aadhaar card.
The STF team is currently completing the necessary formalities, and further investigations are underway.
