GUWAHATI: A home guard under the Meghalaya government was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Amingaon, North Guwahati on April 9.

The home guard named Ribokson Dkar Sawain aged 34 was found dead by Guwahati’s Changsari police on April 9 at around 9 PM.
According to an FIR filed by the victim's brother Kynsai, Ribokson went missing from his NDRF training camp at Changsari, North Guwahati on April 9 at around 6:30 PM as notified by his colleague. As the victim did not return by 8:30 PM the personnel along with other officials from NDRF First Battalion started looking for him but were unsuccessful in tracing him.
On the morning of April 10, the associates of the victim went to file an FIR at the Changsari police station where the official informed them that they had found his body on the previous night and showed them his photo.
Talking to GPlus, Kynsai said, “The body was initially taken to a nearby hospital near the Borluit Dhaba, on Guwahati-Baihata Chariali National Highway where he was declared dead on arrival. Then he was shifted to Gauhati Medical College & Hospital (GMCH) for post-mortem. The case needs to be investigated further using CCTV footage of the Borluit Dhaba where he was found.”
Further investigations are underway on the case.
