GUWAHATI: A division bench of the Gauhati High Court, comprising Chief Justice (acting) Arup Kumar Goswami and Justice Ajit Borthakur, on Friday, issued notice to educational institute ‘Super 30’ founders Anand Kumar and Abhiyanand. The High Court has asked the duo to reply on a public interest litigation (PIL) filed by four students of IIT-Guwahati.

The PIL stated that due to the false information peddled out by Anand Kumar, a large number of students from the Northeast and other parts of the country approach him every year with full faith. The students have expectations that Kumar would help the IIT aspirants in qualifying the IIT entrance exam.

The PIL further alleges that whenever IIT entrance exam results are announced, Anand Kumar presents himself before the media with some of students of Ramanujam School of Mathematics and claims that they are ‘Super 30’ students who have qualified in the IIT entrance examinations.

According to the petition, this year also, Anand Kumar has claimed that 26 out of 30 students from his ‘Super 30’ group have cleared the IIT entrance exam. But surprisingly Kumar has not disclosed the names of the 26 students who had qualified for the IIT entrance.
