GUWAHATI: The Northeast Frontier Railway has unveiled plans to operate special one-way trains to facilitate travel for waitlisted passengers from Northeast and North Bengal regions, particularly those heading towards Southern India.

One such special train numbered 04717, will embark on a single trip from Shri Ganganagar to Guwahati on April 21, 2024. Departing from Shri Ganganagar at 13:55 hours on Sunday, April 21, the train is scheduled to reach Guwahati at 04:50 hours on Wednesday, April 24, 2024.

The train will traverse through various stations including Shri Karanpur, Bikaner, Ratangarh, Jaipur, Agra Cantt, Lucknow, Gorakhpur, Muzaffarpur, Begusarai, Katihar, Kishanganj, New Jalpaiguri, New Bongaigaon, Goalpara Town, and Kamakhya, among others.
Additionally, the railway authorities have announced summer special trains to cater to the increased demand during the season.
Train No. 06103 (Nagercoil Jn. - Dibrugarh) will depart from Nagercoil Junction at 17:45 hours on April 12, 26, May 10, and May 24, 2024, reaching Dibrugarh at 20:50 hours on Monday.
In the return journey, Train No. 06104 (Dibrugarh – Nagercoil Jn.) will depart from Dibrugarh at 19:55 hours on April 17, May 1, 15, and 29, 2024, reaching Nagercoil Jn. at 21:30 hours on Saturday.
Similarly, Train No. 06105 (Nagercoil Jn. – Dibrugarh) will leave from Nagercoil Jn. at 17:45 hours on April 19, May 3, 17, and 31, 2024, while the return train No. 06106 (Dibrugarh – Nagercoil Jn.) will depart from Dibrugarh at 19:55 hours on April 24, May 8, 22, and June 5, 2024.
These special trains will offer various classes of accommodation, including AC-2 tier, AC-3 tier, Sleeper Class, and General Second-Class.
The routes will cover prominent stations such as Mariani Jn., Dimapur, Lumding Jn., Goalpara Town, Kokrajhar, New Cooch Behar, New Jalpaiguri, Malda Town, Barddhaman Jn, Kharagpur Jn., Bhubaneswar, Vizianagram Jn, Vijayawada Jn, Nellore, Coimbatore Jn., Ernakulam Town, and Thiruvananthapuram Central.
