GUWAHATI: The owner of a drug rehabilitation centre along with two others has been arrested in connection with a rape case involving a minor inmate at a drug rehabilitation centre in Guwahati.

Talking to GPlus, an official from Dispur police station said, "Bhargav Giri, a patient at the centre, was apprehended along with the centre's owner, Nishita Baishya, and another individual. The main accused, Bhargav Giri, hails from Nayanpur, Ganeshguri, while the other accused is also associated with the centre."
The victim, a minor, has accused Bhargav Giri and alleged the involvement of the centre's owner, Nishita Baishya, in the case. The police arrested the suspects and initiating legal proceedings under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.

The victim is undergoing a medical examination at GMCH. Further investigation is under way.
