Traffic Restrictions Imposed For Amit Shah's Visit To Guwahati

 

GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Traffic Police has announced a series of traffic restrictions on Monday, April 29, in light of Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit to Guwahati.

Restrictions on Vehicular Movement:
•    Commercial Goods Vehicles: The movement of all commercial goods-carrying vehicles will be restricted on key routes including NH-17 (VIP Flyover to Jalukbari Rotary), DG Road (Jalukbari Rotary to Machkhowa), MG Road (Machkhowa to Bharalu Bridge), RKC Road (Bharalu Railway Gate No. 9 to Fatasil Chariali), AK Dev Road (Fatasil Chariali to Garchuk Chariali), FA Road (Ambari Tiniali to Cycle Factory Tiniali), AK Azad Road (Lokhra to Aarya Nagar Flyover), and BK Kakati Road (Ulubari to Aarya Nagar Flyover). These restrictions will be in effect from 12 PM to 9 PM on April 29.
•    Slow-Moving Vehicles: The plying of slow-moving vehicles or carts is restricted on DG Road, MG Road, RKC Road, AK Dev Road, FA Road, AK Azad Road, and BK Kakati Road from 12 PM to 9 PM.
•    ASTC and Private Buses: All Assam State Transport Corporation (ASTC) and private company buses will be regulated from Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International (LGBI) Airport towards Machkhowa via NH-17, DG Road, MG Road, AK Dev Road, and AK Azad Road from 1 PM onwards.
•    Vehicular Traffic at AK Azad Road: In the stretch from Biruban Tiniali near Aarya Nagar Flyover to Lalganesh Tiniali at AK Azad Road, vehicular traffic will be prohibited from 2 PM onwards.
•    Exemptions for Emergency Vehicles: These restrictions will not apply to emergency vehicles such as fire tenders, ambulances, vehicles carrying life-saving drugs, oxygen cylinders, and school buses.
