On Tuesday, May 14, Chief Secretary of Assam, Ravi Kota, unveiled the DRIMS platform at the Assam Administrative Staff College (AASC), Khanapara, Guwahati. Developed in collaboration with UNICEF, DRIMS is designed to provide accurate reporting and assessment of damages caused by various disasters. The platform captures critical impact indicators efficiently, enabling expedited delivery of relief and rehabilitation grants to affected beneficiaries. Additionally, it tracks damages to crops, loss of livestock, and other key data to facilitate post-disaster restoration efforts.

Following the launch of DRIMS, Kota released the handbook on financial assistance during disasters and inaugurated the state level training programme on incident response system for responders, organised by the National Institute of Disaster Management. The disaster assistance handbook aims to empower individuals to understand their entitlements during and after disasters, thereby enhancing access to assistance, especially for vulnerable groups like children and women.
