GUWAHATI: A 17-year-old girl has died of Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) at Pratiksha Hospital at VIP road in Guwahati on Saturday, January 31.

The deceased has been identified as a resident of Pathar Quarry.
Talking to GPlus an official from Pratiksha Hospital said , "The patient passed away around 9:30 p.m. This disease has no specific age category, but it tends to become more severe in adolescents. As of now, this is the first reported case in Guwahati this year."
GBS is a rare neurological disorder in which the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks the nerves, leading to muscle weakness and, in severe cases, paralysis. While the exact cause remains unknown, early diagnosis and medical intervention can help in managing the condition.
