GUWAHATI: Allegations have surfaced against the management of a diagnostic centre in Guwahati's Beltola Survey, claiming they secretly recorded patients using CCTV cameras. The controversy began when a female patient from Jorhat visited the centre for an ECG test on Saturday, March 8. The female patient was allegedly asked to remove certain clothing for diagnostic purposes. While in the examination room, she noticed a CCTV camera and refused to proceed with the test.

According to the reports, the female patient questioned the staff about the camera, and the two nurses present initially claimed it was for monitoring the entrance. They later changed their statement, saying the camera was non-functional. When she raised her concerns with the manager, he said that the camera was non-functional.
Later, the woman filed a formal complaint with the police.
Speaking to GPlus, an official from Hatigaon Police Station said “ We received a complaint from a female patient regarding CCTV cameras being set up inside the ECG lab in a diagnostic centre in Beltola Survey. We are investigating the matter.”
