GUWAHATI: There are allegations that contaminated water is being supplied in some areas of Islampur, Lalmati and Gandhi Basti.
Local residents of the area took out a protest with the contaminated water and blamed the Guwahati Municipal Corporation for their plight.
While demanding to their daily essential, the locals blocked the Islampur-Gandhibasti road demanding pure drinking water.
The residents have been receiving the unhealthy water for a while and are up in arms against the GMC and the local MLA.
Also, for over a decade now the Lalmati area road is in a pathetic state. The administration is not giving any heed to the complaints made by the residents and has been ignoring the issue.
