Eight Assam Trains Cancelled, Frequency Cut To Combat Fog

 

GUWAHATI: Indian Railways has announced the cancellation and rescheduling of several trains, including those connecting Guwahati and Kamakhya, to tackle operational challenges during the upcoming foggy season.

The changes, effective from 1st December to 28th February, 2025, aim to prioritise passenger safety amidst reduced visibility during winter.

Key Train Cancellations Affecting Guwahati And Kamakhya

15620 Kamakhya - Gaya Junction Express: Cancelled on Mondays (up to 24th February 2025).
15619 Gaya Junction - Kamakhya Express: Cancelled on Tuesdays (up to 25th February 2025).
15621 Kamakhya - Anand Vihar Terminal Express: Cancelled on Thursdays (up to 27th February 2025).
15622 Anand Vihar Terminal - Kamakhya Express: Cancelled on Fridays (up to 28th February 2025).

Reduced Frequency Of Trains Impacting Guwahati

12505 Kamakhya - Anand Vihar Terminal Northeast Express: Cancelled on Sundays and Wednesdays (up to 8th January 2025).
12506 Anand Vihar Terminal - Kamakhya Northeast Express: Cancelled on Tuesdays and Fridays (up to 10th January 2025).

Additionally, trains like the Avadh Assam Expres , which connects Dibrugarh with destinations via Guwahati, have also seen cancellations:
