GUWAHATI: The Assam government on January 9, had made major changes in its state bureaucracy with the issuing of an order for transfer and posting of 38 bureaucrats in the state.
Biswajit Pegu has been appointed as the New Deputy Commissioner of Kamrup (Metro) and will take charge after Bihu. Meanwhile, the current DC of Kamrup Metro, Virendra Mittal has been appointed as Secretary to the Government of Assam, Home and Political Departments with additional charge as CEO, FREMAA.

Some other bureaucrats that were transferred and posted with new charges include Rajesh Prasad, Anwaruddin Choudhury, Ahmed Hussain, Julie Sonowal, Moloy Bora, Puru Gupta, Monoj Kumar Deka, Ruby Borah, Nazrul Islam, Vinod Seshan, Manoj Kumar, Biswajit Pegu, Laya Madduri, Narayan Konwar, Majnur Hussain, S Lakhsmanan, Roshni Apranji Korati, Adil Khan, Ghanashyam Das, Manavendra Pratap and Pallav Gopal Jha.
