GUWAHATI: A woman from Assam travelling by Bengaluru-Guwahati express train gave birth to three premature babies on the train on November 15.
According to reports, the woman idendified as Munzila Khatun from Udalguri, Assam felt pain in abdomen and delivered three babies with the help of some people.
“Two babies died and one was alive then. Keeping the condition of the baby, the mother and the babies were immediately shifted to Bhadrak district headquarters hospital (DHH) with the help of an ambulance,” said East Coast Railway (ECoR) sources.
Althought her condition was stable, but all three babies died.
Pradeep Khuntia, superintendent of Bhadrak DHH, said the condition of the woman was fine, but babies were brought dead. “It was a premature delivery. The woman gave birth to the babies in seven months,” he added.
