Visually Impaired Artist Triumphs In Sanskritik Mahasangram In Lakhimpur

GUWAHATI: Suleman Kath Praja, who is visually impaired, clinched the top honor in the Bhupendra Sangeet competition during the LAC level contest held in Lakhimpur, on December 13. 

Praja's victory serves as a testament to the notion that physical disabilities are no hindrance to cultivating and showcasing one's skills.

The Bhupendra Sangeet competition, part of the Sanskritik Mahasangram, has emerged as a significant platform for nurturing and highlighting the diverse talents present in the state. Praja's success showcases the inclusive nature of the competition, offering individuals, irrespective of physical abilities, the opportunity to excel and be recognized for their artistic prowess.

The achievement not only brings recognition to Suleman Kath Praja's musical talents but also sends a broader message about embracing diversity and providing platforms that empower individuals to overcome challenges and pursue their passions.

Sanskritik Mahasangram competitions are being held from December 5 to December 20 at the LAC level under the Department of Cultural Affairs, Government of Assam. The competition will feature Legislative Assembly Constituency level competitions in genres like Jyoti Sangeet, Rabindra Sangeet, Bishnu Rabha Sangeet, Bihu Dance groups, and Folk Dance groups of Assam.
