GUWAHATI: Assam’s flagship digital education initiative Shiksha Setu has been honoured with the prestigious Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration. The award was conferred by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in recognition of the initiative’s innovative approach to streamlining school governance.

Shiksha Setu, a single-point digital platform, has revolutionised how student and teacher attendance is monitored across Assam’s government schools. By introducing real-time tracking and data uniformity, the platform has not only enhanced transparency but also enabled better policymaking and accountability within the education sector.

Officials from Samagra Shiksha Assam received the award at the national function in Delhi.
Tinsukia District Also Honoured For Holistic Development
In addition to the education award, Tinsukia District Administration was also conferred the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration under the category of Holistic Development of Districts.
The district stood out for its efficient and balanced implementation of Central and State government schemes across sectors—ranging from health and infrastructure to livelihood and social welfare. The administration’s integrated approach has transformed Tinsukia into a model district, setting benchmarks for others to follow.
