Virat Kohli & Anushka Sharma Come Forward To Help Assam Flood Victims

GUWAHATI: Cricketer and current Indian captain, Virat Kohli and his actor wife, Anushka Sharma, have pledged their support to the victims of the floods of Assam and Bihar.

In a note, the actor and cricketer wrote, "While our country is in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, people in Assam and Bihar are also suffering due to the devastating floods that have affected so many lives and livelihood. While we continue to pray for the people in Assam & Bihar, Anushka and I have also pledged to help those in need by supporting these three organisations that have been doing credible work in flood relief & welfare. Assam is this year, facing a flood that is as bad as any of the previous years if not one of the worst ever. 

Thousands of people have been left stranded and rendered homeless while many, including animals, have lost their lives.

Celebrities, YouTubers, and social influencers have come forward to help the flood victims and Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma are the latest to come forward to help the people affected by the tragedy. 

The celebrity duo has pledged to route their contributions through three NGOs viz Rapid Response, Actionaid, and Goonj who, according to them, “have been doing credible work in flood relief and welfare.”
