Assam Man Among Two CRPF Personnel Killed In Manipur Attack

 

GUWAHATI: Two Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel were killed and two others injured in an attack on a security forces camp in Manipur's Bishnupur district in the early hours of Saturday, April 27. The attack took place at an India Reserve Battalion (IRBn) camp at Naranseina in the Moirang police station area, according to reports.

The deceased have been identified as CRPF Sub-Inspector Nashiruddin Sarkar and Head Constable Arup Saini. Sarkar hailed from Assam’s Barpeta district, while Saini was from West Bengal.

The injured personnel, Inspector Jadav Das and Constable Aftab Das from B company of the 128 BN CRPF, received splinter wounds and are currently receiving medical treatment.

According to initial reports, militants attacked the IRBn camp where CRPF personnel were deployed to provide security. A massive search operation has been launched by security forces to track down the perpetrators of this attack.

The motive behind the attack is still under investigation. Further details about the attackers are yet to be ascertained, as investigations are currently underway.
