• Gogoi's political trajectory encompasses significant roles and responsibilities within the state and central government. Since 2019, Gogoi has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) representing the Jorhat constituency.
• From 2016 to 2019, he served as the Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) representing Sonari. During this tenure, he held the position of Minister of State (Independent Charge) in the Ministry of Power and Public Works Department (PWD) in the Government of Assam.
