Violence Erupts At Bordoloi Trophy Final In Majuli, Referee Attacked

 

GUWAHATI: The Bordoloi Trophy final at Majuli Garamur Mini Stadium reportedly descended into chaos after an enraged crowd attacked the referee, leading to unrest on the field.

The match reportedly contested between Riverine Club and Karpunpuli Club, took a violent turn when a section of Karpunpuli Club supporters allegedly assaulted referee Apurba Regon, accusing him of biased officiating. Reports indicate that the referee sustained severe injuries in the attack.

As tensions escalated, police and paramilitary forces intervened, using a baton charge to disperse the agitated crowd and restore order, as per reports.
