GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday, February 15, distributed appointment letters to 4,529 additional contractual teachers for secondary schools and 58 assistant professors for colleges in the state.

The newly appointed teachers and professors will receive a range of benefits, ensuring financial security and professional growth.
These include seniority-based eligibility for principal and vice-principal posts in the future and health coverage under the Mukhya Mantri Lok Sevak Arogya Yojana, which provides medical benefits to government employees.
The appointed personnel have also been included under the PM Surya Ghar Scheme, and mutual transfer facility has additionally been provided to them, allowing flexibility in job locations.
Finally, they have also been provided access to the Apun Ghar and Apun Bahan schemes, which offer affordable home and vehicle loans to government employees.
