Speaking at a press meet at Lok Sewa Bhawan, he said, "It is progressing. I am sure we will get one or two announcements on the defence corridor in this conclave."
When asked about the presence of international defence equipment manufacturers at the event, Sarma stated that the focus remains on engaging with government entities. "We are focusing on government entities because, in the Northeast, inviting international defence units will require clearance from the Centre," he said.
The event is expected to bring together policymakers and industry leaders to discuss various sectors. The necessity for central approval for international firms remains a key consideration in the discussions surrounding the defence corridor.
Further developments on the matter are expected to be revealed during the Advantage Assam 2.0 conclave.
