GUWAHATI: Crime Branch apprehended five persons from Birubari area in Guwahati for possessing drugs on 11 December.
A team of crime branch and Paltan Bazar police raided the residence of Ikbal Ali, House number 31 near SBI Birubari and seized 84 small brownish powder filled small plastic containers (suspected to be brown sugar). Police also seized 59 bottles of Cefrex cough syrup.
Veteran drug peddler Ikbal Ali along with four others have been arrested by Paltan Bazar police.

Others apprehended are Aman Gupta, Rahul Das, Pritam Thapa, and Samrat Das. Pritam Thapa works with Patanjali in Tezpur.
“From one of our raids in the area, we have seized heroin and all kinds of narcotics and psychotropic substances,” Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (ADCP) (Crime), Rosie Kalita informed G Plus.
The police also conducted raids in various places in and around Birubari.
