GUWAHATI: Kamal Bora, a revered figure in the Assamese Film Industry, breathed his last on Thursday morning in Kampur. Bora's demise came after a battle with Japanese Encephalitis, and he passed away at approximately 8 AM on October 26, according to media reports.
Kamal Bora played a pivotal role as a co-producer in the acclaimed Assamese film 'Kokadeuta Nati Aru Hati' (1948), which featured prominent personalities such as Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and the late Nipon Goswami, among others.
In addition to his role as a co-producer, Bora also graced the screen with his acting endeavors.
As per preliminary information, Bora had been receiving medical treatment at a hospital in Guwahati for Japanese Encephalitis.
However, a few days before his passing, he was transferred from Guwahati to his residence in Kampur.
It was at his home in Kampur that the film producer and actor bid his final farewell.
