GUWAHATI: UK Home Secretary, Sajid Javid has signed the order to extradite Mallya to India on February 4.
According to authorities, the entire process to bring back Mallya to India might take at least 7-8 months if he uses all legal options available to him.
Mallya, 62 was facing charges of fraud, money laundering and violation of Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA). He has also defaulted approximately INR 9000 crore.
Reacting to this news, Arun Jaitley, Union Minister tweeted, “Modi government clears one more step to get Mallya extradited while Opposition rallies around the Saradha Scamsters.”
