GUWAHATI: Guwahati Police from Basistha Police Station arrested two veteran thieves on Monday, January 27, at Bidyamandir Path, Bhetapara.
The suspects have been identified as Nur Hussain (28) of Kholaboiya, Buraburi Bajar, Mayong, Morigaon district, and Abdul Hafijul Islam (25) of Jatradiya, Tarabari, Barpeta district.
The duo was caught in possession of a four-wheeled vehicle and a motorcycle, both of which were reportedly used in the theft.
The stolen goods recovered include 16 meters of rods (8 bundles) and 8 meters of rods (2 bundles). These rods were reportedly stolen on the night of January 26, from H/No-12, B/Lane-2, Naranarayan Path, Vidyamandir Path, Bhetapara, under Basistha Police Station.
The police have seized the stolen items and are continuing their investigation.
