Multiple Arrests Made In Guwahati For Vehicle Theft, Fraud, & Drug Peddling

 

GUWAHATI: The police conducted multiple operations across Guwahati cracking down on various criminal activities, resulting in several arrests related to theft, fraud, and drug trafficking on January 30.

In Lakhtokia, authorities apprehended Pranab Das (21) for vehicle theft, recovering a stolen two-wheeler. Meanwhile, a team from Pan Bazaar police station arrested Ashim Goyal from Athgaon for his alleged involvement in a financial fraud case, where victims were reportedly duped of approximately ₹8 crore.

Separately, a police team from Khetri Police Station arrested Akash Orang (19) and Bhabesh Deka (25) for possession of a stolen two-wheeler (AS01EW1894) near Pithagog. The bike had been reported stolen from near Dimoria College.

Additionally, another police team from Jalukbari recovered four missing mobile phones and returned them to their rightful owners.

Lastly, a team from Basistha police station arrested veteran drug peddler Samulya Das (38) of Lakhipur in Lokhra. Authorities seized 20.6 kg of ganja, along with a mobile phone and a vehicle (AS01QC1090).
