The Saraighat bridges have witnessed two major accidents in last 24 hours. After the incident of a DIV van meeting with accident at the new Saraighat bridge on Friday evening, another major accident took place at the old bridge, when a Ford FIGO lost balance and hit the railing and barricades on the bridge.
The accident took place at around 2 AM on Saturday.
The vehicle, bearing registration number AS-01-GC-2089 was travelling from Amingaon towards Jalukbari.
Reportedly, all three persons in the vehicle, viz, Manoj Das (38), Kishor Thappa (32) and Kamakhya Roy (30) were severly injured, and were taken to Tularam Bafna Civil Hospital, at Amingaon.
