Trading Firm In Guwahati Penalised ₹20,000 For Operating Without Trade Licence

 

GUWAHATI: The Guwahati Municipal Corporation (GMC) has imposed a penalty of ₹20,000 on a trading firm located on Guwahati’s F.A. Road for operating without a valid trade licence.

The action was taken as part of GMC’s ongoing drive to ensure businesses comply with licensing regulations.

Officials reiterated that all business owners must obtain and regularly update their trade licences to avoid fines and legal consequences. The corporation has urged traders to adhere to municipal regulations to maintain smooth business operations.

GMC took to X to put out, “A valid trade license is mandatory for doing business. Today, GMC imposed a penalty of ₹20,000/- on a trading firm in F.A. Road for operating without a trade licence.
