GUWAHATI: A boat stationed at the Uzanbazar Ghat in Guwahati caught fire on Thursday night. The vessel was known as SB Sukhafa, a private tourist boat.
As per a report of the Fire and Emergency Services, the Department had received a call informing about the vessel catching fire approximately at 12:38 AM. It took the Department two hours to douse the fire.

No human casualties were reported, although a substantial portion of the vessel has been damaged.
The Inland Water Transport Department (IWT) officials told G Plus that the vessel plied between Uzanbazar Ghat of Guwahati to Umananda. An investigation will be initiated soon to analyse the damages and cause of the fire.
