GUWAHATI: The Indian Air Force Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT), also known as the IAF Ambassadors are all set to perform aircraft aerobatics over Lachit Ghat in Guwahati on September 27. The air show has been scheduled for 10 AM on September 27. The squadron uses Hawk Mk-132 aircraft to perform the aerobatics.
The Surya Kiran team is currently stationed at Tezpur Airforce Station. Wing Commander Rupam Bardoloi will also be a member of the squadron.
The squadron performed daring and breathtaking aerial manoeuvres in Bhubaneswar on September 16 and the Blue Flag Beach in Puri on September 18. It will perform in Chandigarh on October 8 and Bareilly on October 14.
IAF’s Surya Kiran is one of the only nine aircraft formation aerobatic teams in the whole world. The SKAT was established in 1996 and has been performing aircraft aerobatics for 25 years now. It is also a part of the IAF’s 52nd squadron.
