Support Of Minorities Has Increased, Says Assam State BJP President

 

GUWAHATI: After the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections on Friday, April 26, Assam State BJP President Bhabesh Kalita  said that minority support for the BJP has increased and expressed optimism about doing well.  

Addressing the media in Guwahati on Saturday, he stated, "We anticipate favoruable outcomes in the second phase."

Kalita highlighted an increase in minority support for the BJP.

Among the five constituencies that went to poll on Friday, Nagaon, Karimganj,  and Silchar have a significant presence of Muslim voters.

"As we focus on the upcoming third phase of elections, preparations are underway for the Home Minister's massive road show scheduled for April 29," the Kalita announced. 

He emphasised that the road show is expected to draw approximately 100,000 to 150,000 people. 

It is to be mentioned that during the second phase of elections, Assam witnessed a voter turnout of 81.17 per cent across the five parliamentary constituencies. These constituencies included Silchar, Karimganj, Diphu, Nagaon, and Darrang-Udalguri.

The third and last phase of the elections in Assam will be held on May 7 across the four remaining constituencies. The first phase was held on April 19. Votes will be counted on June 4.
