GUWAHATI: Golaghat Police made a breakthrough on May 7 by apprehending an inter-state drug trafficker from Bordumsa, Tinsukia.

The operation resulted in the seizure of ₹17.84 lakh in cash and seven vehicles believed to be used in drug trafficking activities. The latest arrest comes as a follow-up to an operation conducted on May 2.

Acting on a tip-off, Golaghat Police had launched an operation across multiple locations, leading to the seizure of 240 soap cases filled with heroin, approximately 3 kilograms in total, from four peddlers traveling in two vehicles in the Sarupathar Police Station area. According to the police, the heroin was brought from Manipur and was intended for distribution in Upper Assam.
