GUWAHATI: The Assam Cabinet has approved the extension of the enhanced loan threshold limit of ₹30 lakh under the Apon Ghar scheme to 37,277 existing beneficiaries, offering them an interest subvention of 1%. The decision was announced by the chief minister on Friday, January 31.

The Cabinet has also sanctioned ₹234 crore for the development of 219 rural roads in Tea Garden areas across 19 districts.
These initiatives aim to enhance housing benefits and boost infrastructure in Assam’s Tea Garden regions.
