GUWAHATI: The Assam government has approved an exemption from the three-generation domicile policy for certain indigenous communities under Mission Basundhara 3.0. The announcement was made by chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma following a cabinet meeting held on Friday, January 31 after reviewing the rejected applications from Mission Basundhara 2.0.

The exemption will apply to the Koch Rajbongshi, Moran, Matak, Chutia, and Ahom communities, allowing them to access services under the latest phase of the initiative. Mission Basundhara aims to streamline land-related services and provide easier access to land records for Assam’s residents.
Furthermore, the Cabinet has approved an extension of the application window for Mission Basundhara 3.0 services. Eligible applicants will now have until February 15 to submit their applications.
