Assam Girls Clinch National Title in Sub-Junior Roll Ball Championship; Boys Secure Bronze Medal

 

GUWAHATI: The 16th National Junior Roll Ball Championship witnessed a thrilling finale on April 28, as Assam girls emerged victorious, defeating Tamil Nadu in the final match with a score of 9-3.

The goal scorers for the female team are as follows:

Namrata - 4 goals, Kuki - 2 goals, Mishka - 2 goals, and Kristy - 1 goal.

In the semi-final clash, Assam Girls outplayed Chhattisgarh with a 7-3 victory. Their journey to the quarter-finals was with a 5-0 win over RSSA.

The league matches showcased Assam's dominance as they secured victories against Jammu & Kashmir (3-1), Punjab (11-1), Daman and Diu (10-0), Tamil Nadu (5-0), and Uttar Pradesh (6-2).

Meanwhile, in the boys' category, Assam settled for bronze losing to Uttar Pradesh in the semi-finals (3-11).

However, in the quarter-finals, they defeated Tamil Nadu with a score of 4-3.

The 16th edition of the championship commenced on April 25 with 28 teams competing in the boys' category and 24 teams in the girls' category, including teams from Ladakh and Puducherry.

The event, held in Dehradun, concluded on Sunday.
