A student from IIT Guwahati, identified as Nagashree Aithal has reportedly committed suicide in her hostel room, wherein her body was found hanging from the ceiling fan.
Nagashree hailed from Karnataka and was a student of B.Tech 1st year, Mechanical Engineering.
Police have reached the spot and are investigating the matter.
The body of the deceased has been taken to GMCH. However, the post-mortem will depend upon the family member's decision, which will be known within 20-30 minutes from now.
