GUWAHATI: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Himanta Biswa Sarma has criticised the alliance of Congress and All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) ahead of the Assam Assembly 2021 election.

"We (BJP) didn't even have a name in 2011-12 but now to defeat us snakes and frogs have to team up. That is an achievement in politics," Sarma said.

The Northeast Democratic Alliance (NEDA) chief addressed a two-day Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha state conference in Sivasagar where he stated that the upcoming Assam election 2021 will be a "fight between two civilisations." He emphasised that the BJP should be focussed more "on ideology than electoral politics."

He further added, "The work we have done in last the 5 years, that storm no one can stop. There is only one political party in Assam that is the BJP."
