GUWAHATI: The Special Task Force (STF) Assam, in collaboration with Dhemaji police, conducted a raid leading to the seizure of two ivory tusks on April 10.

The operation conducted as a part of a drive against wildlife poaching at an interior part of the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border in Kemi Village under the jurisdiction of Jonai Police Station, resulted in the recovery of two ivory tusks weighing a total of 15.20 kilogram.

The raid carried out in the dense forests of the region, targeted a poacher who reportedly managed to evade capture and escape.
Additionally, the authorities also recovered other items allegedly used in illicit activities in the raid. Further investigations are underway in the pursuit of the poacher on the run.
