The post, shared by Pagan on social media platform X on Tuesday, April 8, has since gone viral, with users both applauding and questioning his parenting approach.

The video featured Pagan’s younger son engrossed in a video game on a laptop. While the gameplay itself did not attract much attention, Pagan’s views on parenting did. In his post, he stated that he and his wife had chosen not to impose restrictions on their children. Instead, they encouraged their interests, including gaming.

"My younger son types faster than my eyes can see,” Pagan said. “We made a decision never to limit our sons, no matter what. When they went into gaming, we encouraged them." He further shared that his son was not only active in gaming but also excelled academically and socially.

“He is a topper in his class. His teachers and classmates love him. He is confident, intelligent and has many friends,” Pagan added.

Additionally, he mentioned that his son had progressed on the competitive “ladder” in several games, although he was not yet eligible for official tournaments.

Pagan concluded the post by highlighting his parenting belief, stating that children should be trusted to make their own choices. “We as parents can just be a support. We cannot mould them to our desires,” he wrote.

The post drew mixed reactions from the internet. Some users praised Pagan’s open-minded parenting. One comment read, “This is what my parents gave me — the power of choice. I’ll do the same for my children.”

Others, however, voiced concerns over the potential physical effects of excessive gaming. Some urged Pagan to monitor his son’s posture and screen time. “Please take care of the backbone,” one user commented. Another added, “Is this something to be proud of as a parent?”
