12 Candidates File Nominations For Third Phase Of Lok Sabha Elections In Assam

 

GUWAHATI: As the Lok Sabha election process unfolds in Assam, a total of 12 candidates stepped forward on April 18 to file 35 nomination papers for the upcoming third phase of polling.

Among the four Lok Sabha constituencies set for polls in the third phase, three candidates submitted their nominations in Kokrajhar constituency, while an equal number did so in Dhubri constituency. In Barpeta constituency, four candidates filed their papers. Additionally, two candidates submitted nominations in the Guwahati constituency.

With this latest influx of nominations, the total tally for the third phase of elections in Assam stands at 30 candidates, who collectively filed 65 nomination papers.

As the electoral process progresses, candidates and political parties are gearing up for a rigorous campaign period leading up to polling day. The final date for filing nominations for the third phase of elections is set for April 19, as more candidates may yet come forward to contest the upcoming polls.
