Despite the presence of two dustbins meant for waste disposal, their small size makes them insufficient to handle the community's garbage. As a result, locals have started dumping waste on the roadside near the bins, leading to unsightly and unsanitary conditions.
Stray dogs often scatter the garbage further, worsening the situation.
Talking to GPlus, a local resident named Priyanka Das said, “This is becoming unbearable. The stench is horrible, and it’s affecting our health. I cross the road to the other side every time I reach the garbage dump.”
However, not everyone shared the same opinion, as another resident, who chose to remain anonymous, shed his light on the matter. “We need bigger bins and regular waste collection to fix this. If the authorities do not provide us with sizable dustbins, it is better to dump the garbage here than to spread it like litter everywhere around.”
Residents have urged municipal authorities to install larger dustbins and ensure timely waste collection, as the situation continues to persist for the time being.
