GUWAHATI: Cachar Police, in conjunction with the Border Security Force (BSF), carried out a search operation leading to the interception and seizure of a substantial haul of YABA tablets on December 25.
According to official information, the raid was conducted in a vehicle entering Silchar from a neighbouring state in the Chalchapra area and resulted in the confiscation of YABA tablets valued at ₹10 crore. Five individuals allegedly associated with the bust have been apprehended.
Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma took to X to put out, “Acting on a tip-off, @cacharpolice along with @BSF_India conducted a search operation and seized a vehicle coming from a neighbouring State carrying YABA tablets worth ₹10 crore from Chalchapra area of Silchar. Five persons have been apprehended in this regard. Further investigation is going on.”
